Killer whales are also known as Orca. They are very easy to recognize because of their black and white color. Killer whales are the toothed whales which are found in Arctic and Antarctic regions. Killer whales possess heavy and strong body with weight of approximately 18,000 pounds. The average life of killer whales is 25 to 90 years and interestingly the females have longer life than males. They live by forming a family group which is known as pods. The average number of whales in a group is 3 to 25.
Hunting Style of Killer Whales
Killers whales are very good hunters. Their hunting technique is very interesting and is called herding. During this technique a pod of whales surround the prey closing the border. Then individually they swim around the prey and eat it as fast as possible.

Killer Whales are known as the top predators of the ocean. Their eating habits depend on the region in which they are found. As the killer whales adapt to all the conditions so their eating habits are easily changed. Their food includes:
