Eating disorders are considered as sort of diseases affected by eating habits and attitude. Eating disorders in children bring serious changes in their eating habits and that can cause major health problems. Eating disorders that often appear in children are:
In this type of eating disorder, children refuse to eat. They are in fear that if they eat, they will become fat. Don’t you think this eating attitude is worst for children who have to grow themselves and this is not the time to think like that?
Bulimia
Bulimia is another type of eating disorder and children often suffer in this eating disease. In this situation child grossly overeat and then purges the eaten food by vomiting. After overeating they use laxatives to prevent over weight.
Binge Eating
In this condition a child keeps on eating without purging.
These eating disorders occur in early age of adults. Physicians are suspect regarding eating disorder symptoms and they consider them as combination with biological, social and behavioral factors. Many children and teens having eating disorders struggle for following:
- Distress
- Fear of becoming overweight
- Feelings of helplessness
- Low self-esteem
Eating disorders in children go hand in hand with many other psycho problems like depression, anxiety disorder and substance abuse. Don’t you think that having eating disorder in this early stage can be how much dangerous for the health of children and teens? They have to groom and grow themselves and this is not the time to think or behave like that. You must pay special attention to your kids and call doctor for eating disorder cannot be treated with sheer willpower. It would be best to treat eating disorders in kids at the early stage whenever they occur. Eating disorders are main cause of destroying body image of children and eats and irregular and bad eating habits haunt them throughout the life.
