Baby Eating Schedule

This information is especially for mothers as your babies depend on you regarding their eating or feeding. You should keep in mind some important points when you go to create feeding schedule for your babies. Feeding the babies is a huge responsibility as you have to understand needs of your babies without their demands or instructions. New mothers often overwhelmed by the pressure to take good care of their babies. Don’t worry making a schedule of diet for your baby is not difficult at all. Here are some tips for you to provide your baby with necessary nutrition in the form of milk or feeding him/her for the whole year.
First Four Month Feeding Schedule
From birth to fourth month breast milk is perfect for babies as it can meet with all their nutritional needs and also protect them from diseases. However this perception is changed to some people and they think that giving mixture of some cereal with formula or breast milk is better for babies who are of two or three weeks. They say that it can be helpful for comfortable and long hours of sleep for babies. Solid food is forbidden to give infants as it can be wrong for their immature digestive system. In first two months you need to feed your babies each two or three hours especially in case of breastfeeding. Feeding schedule can be stretched for three to four hours gradually. However strictly following the schedule is not much important within this period but you should feed your baby when he/she feels hunger.
Four to Sixth Month Feeding Schedule
From four to sixth month your baby may introduce with solid food but breast milk and formula will remain his/her basic needs. You can give some solid food to your baby twice in a day. In the beginning of giving solid diet to your babies you help him/her to eat with spoon or practice swallowing. But eventually he/she will look for every thing you will offer him/her. For the first two weeks of this period you can give your baby rice, oatmeal, barley and cereal etc. But don’t force your infants to eat. He/she may eat some bites in the beginning. You should not neglect his/her demand for breast milk as he/she can be angry if you will want to satisfy him/her just with solid diet.
Six to Eighth Month Feeding Schedule
Within this period you can expand the diet of your baby as he/she is now familiar with solid food. Some pediatricians recommend fruits and vegetables for them. You should introduce new food to your baby after some intervals to check that whether that food is not allergic for your baby or not. Within this time period you baby is now 8 years old and you can make schedule of breakfast, lunch and dinner for him/her. Keep in mind that breast milk or formula is still necessary for him/her.
Eight to Twelfth Month Feeding Schedule
Your baby in now growing up and you can add more and more food in his/her diet. These foods can include pasta products, meet and many others that your child likes to eat. You must focus on having food that is labeled by “First food” or “Second food” as your baby has not many teeth to chew the food. But still avoid to giving your child food that is hard to chew like nuts, hard candies, peanut butter and grapes etc. When your child grows to his/her first birthday you can give him/her anything that he/she can chew or swallow easily. In this stage of your child’s growth you can dropped off formula or breastfeeding according to some pediatricians.
